Dillema of Online classes
Hi Today I will share my experience about online classes. My classes start at 8am and end at 2pm. After doing my classes I feel really tired and my eyes pain because of staring at the screen. In my school classes are of 40-45 minutes. There are 3 breaks first two of 15 minutes each and the last one of 20 mins. I get tired by sitting at one place.
When my teacher shares the screen then me and my friends ask ma'am to zoom it, and she says that zoom it at your side, which is not possible on my computer, while it is possible only on mobile and tablet. I like to use my computer for online class as it has a screen bigger than laptop and my tablet.
I'm sad that I'm not able to meet my friends and my classmates. I used to have time for physical activities at the park, but with school eye strain I have to sit at home for some time to relieve it.
In April, Yogi Adityanath (CM of UP) announced that all online classes will be closed from May 1 to May 15, but my school did not close and I had to attend full day till May 7. I was very sad that I had to attend school while my friends were enjoying holiday.
I read in newspaper that on October 22 last year Government said that the classes should be daily 5 days a week, 2 sessions a day and the duration should be of 30 minutes, for classes 3-5. There should be a break of at least 15 minutes after each class to relax the eyes. Ophthalmologist say that staring at the screen for too much time would harm the eyes. Staring at a fixed distance for a long time causes fatigue, eye strain and headache.
I found that if I remove my glasses and see the screen for some time then everything seems little blur and I get eye strain. But if I wear my glasses then backside of my ears pain. My eye number is small so I usually do all my other work without glasses, but I have to wear my glasses during class and homework and even while writing this blog.
From newspaper I read that some parents are asking schools to reduce fees because online classes are of lesser time. But teachers tell us that if they take small classes then we cannot complete syllabus. Some parents also asked for long classes because their kids would rather spend more time on mobile if class duration are short.
In such case kids can do creative work like I do with my Dadi, Fufaji Dadu, Bua Dadi. I made 2 portriats with my Bua Dadi, a kitchen for my doll house and multiplication tables race with chachu and Dadu (blog comming soon). I also play cricket with my mummy and papa inside our home.
True, school authorities should understand this situation and try to reduce online class sessions .
ReplyDeleteConcept of online classes is good until it proves to be stressful for the young youths.
ReplyDeleteI really feel so sad for all the youth whoever are still in their academic life man. I definitely would find it hard to adapt to these circumstances, and I respect each and everyone for bearing these adverse conditions.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I think the classes should be spread out as you mentioned, because the way we millennials work is a bit different and prioritizing breaks would increase the productivity ten fold, I have noticed that with myself.
Anyways do not lose hope, just keep on working. We will come out of this much stronger than we were before, so keep it up, we are almost there.
Wonderful post! Good insight into the life of a child on how to handle pandemic life
